Alex K: Hehe! Actually we wanted something short and catchy, a name that easily get stuck in your head and haunts you for the rest of your life.

MELODY LANE: The line-up of the band is confirmed, is it the same of the beginning of the band…or have you had changes in the last years? Can you tell us something about the roots of LIPZ?
Alex K: Me(Alex K), Conny S and Koffe K are from the roots and we’ve changing the bassist, like 3 times but now we’ve finally found our soulmate Chris Y.

MELODY LANE: Can you list us 3 songs, from the LIPZ discography (including new material), that can define the sound of the band … 3 songs that can help our readers to know LIPZ at the best.
Alex K: I think If you mix the 3 songs “Get it on” “Star” and “Ghost town” you’ll get the idea of what Lipz is all about.

MELODY LANE: Tell us something about the creative process of your music. Is there a main composer or we can talk about a team work? The songs come from ideas of a single member and then the band works on these ideas in the studio jamming together, or your songs are written in the studio and all the members compose together?
Alex K: We have a really good teamwork in Lipz and we’ve made the songs together in the studio, of course some of the ideas comes individually but we always finish the songs together.

MELODY LANE: Who writes lyrics and words in LIPZ? Can you tell us something about contents and messages of the lyrics of your songs?
Alex K: For this album “Scaryman” me(Alex K) and Conny S are the ones who wrote the lyrics, and The theme of the songs is mostly based on horror.

MELODY LANE:  So will you tour in the next future? Have you already a touring schedule? Any chance for us to see LIPZ playing live here in Italy in the next months/year?
Alex K: Actually we will play with the mighty D.A.D at “Luppolo in rock” the 15th of July in Cremona (Italy) and That’s the only one booked but we have many others yet too be confirmed.

Alex K: That’s a really hard one.. But one band we know we would love to tour with is the Swedish band Ghost! And that’s because of there amazing look and super cool sound! We think that Ghost fans would also like our sound and look and we think that we could get along pretty well personally with the members of Ghost.

MELODY LANE: We know that ‘to define is to limit’… but how do you define LIPZ sound? Are you a Glam Rock band…a Sleaze band…a street metal band? Or…
Alex K: You’re right, we hate to define our sound but we usually hear from our fans that we are all of this sub-genres and many more, so we prefer to leave the labelling to our fans.
